Before you start
Connect once
Sets require MakeEmoji Pro. Connect your Twitch channel in Account settings so MakeEmoji can identify the 7TV, BetterTTV, and FrankerFaceZ inventories attached to that channel.
Read-only checks work without the Publish Assistant. To apply 7TV, BetterTTV, and FrankerFaceZ changes, install the write-capable browser extension and keep it enabled while you publish.
Step 1
Create the source Set
Create a Set, then add emotes from your saved Creations or choose Add entry inside the Set. Each entry needs a platform code—the name MakeEmoji expects remotely. Add a reusable source image when MakeEmoji will need to publish the emote.
Expand Platforms and add the connected 7TV, FrankerFaceZ, and BetterTTV destinations you want this Set to track.
The Set is the desired list
Editing a Set does not immediately edit a provider. It marks the last check as stale so you can review the new desired state before publishing.
Step 2
Check every destination
Choose Check in the Set sidebar or Check all at the top of the page. MakeEmoji reads a fresh inventory from each selected provider. A check never writes, renames, or removes an emote.
The comparison looks for missing entries, renamed emotes, saved mappings that disappeared, and source images that changed after the last publish.
Step 3
Review the differences
Each destination and entry reports a status. Fix platform codes or mappings before publishing when MakeEmoji finds a blocking difference.
- Aligned
- Every enabled Set entry is confirmed on that platform.
- Aligned, needs review
- The entries appear to exist, but a mapping or warning still needs confirmation.
- Needs attention
- An emote is missing, renamed, or no longer matches the Set.
- Stale
- The Set changed after its last successful platform check.
- Check failed
- MakeEmoji could not read the platform; the last successful result remains visible.
Step 4
Publish reviewed changes
Choose Publish in the sidebar or Publish All at the top. Select the destinations to update. MakeEmoji refreshes them first, builds an operation plan, and hands supported writes to the Publish Assistant for local confirmation.
Keep the browser extension enabled until approved actions finish. FrankerFaceZ submissions can remain pending while moderators review them. If the extension is unavailable, MakeEmoji keeps manual platform links available.
Provider credentials are not included in the signed publish plan. Extension-assisted actions run through the provider sessions already open in your browser.
Important
What syncing does
Set syncing is not a continuous background mirror. MakeEmoji may refresh a stale inventory when you open a Set; use Check whenever you want to force a fresh comparison, then publish only the differences you approve.
Remote extras stay by default
Sets use subset behavior, so an emote that exists only on a provider is informational unless you explicitly include channel-membership removals while publishing.
Removal does not delete provider assets
The optional removal setting removes an emote from the connected channel or Set membership. It does not permanently delete the underlying provider asset.
